1. Purpose

Hexagon Training is committed to fostering a professional, respectful, and inclusive environment for all staff, speakers, and attendees. This policy establishes expectations for workplace behaviour to ensure a safe, supportive, and productive learning experience for everyone. This policy outlines the expectations for professional conduct during Hexagon Training events and helps ensure that all programs provide a safe and supportive space for learning and collaboration.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all individuals involved in Hexagon Training events, including speakers, attendees, Hexagon staff and contractors, sponsors, partners, and any individuals attending or supporting the event. The policy applies to both in-person and virtual events, including workshops, webinars, conferences, and other training events.

  • Treat others with professionalism, courtesy, and respect
  • Be mindful of diverse perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds
  • Participate in discussions in a constructive and respectful manner
  • Support a collaborative and positive learning environment

4. Respectful and Inclusive Conduct

To maintain a safe and inclusive environment, attendees must refrain from behaviour that could make others feel unsafe, uncomfortable, or excluded. This includes, but is not limited to harassment, bullying, or intimidation, discriminatory or derogatory comments related to identity or personal characteristics, verbal abuse or aggressive behaviour, inappropriate or disruptive comments during presentations or discussions, misuse of chat functions, messaging tools, or other communication channels during virtual events.

Hexagon maintains a zero-tolerance approach to harassment or discrimination in any form.

5. Maintaining a Safe Learning Environment

  • 5.1 Hexagon Training prioritizes psychological safety and a respectful learning atmosphere.
  • 5.2 If behaviour disrupts the learning experience or creates discomfort for others, Speakers or Hexagon staff may address the behaviour during the session.
  • 5.3 The event may be briefly paused if needed to maintain a respectful environment, and in some situations, individuals may be asked to leave the session to protect the learning experience for others.

These actions are intended to ensure that all participants are able to engage comfortably and professionally.

6. Speaker Responsibilities

Speakers play an important role in helping create a positive learning environment.
  • 6.1 Speakers are expected to model respectful and professional communication.
  • 6.2 Present content that is inclusive, culturally respectful, and aligned with professional ethical standards.
  • 6.3 Work collaboratively with Hexagon staff if concerns arise during an event.
  • 6.4 Notify Hexagon of any incidents that effect attendee well-being or professional conduct.

7. Addressing Concerns

Hexagon encourages attendees to raise concerns if they experience or observe behaviour that may violate this policy. Concerns may be shared with Hexagon staff during the event or reported afterward to info@hexagontraining.ca

All concerns will be reviewed thoughtfully and handled with professionalism and discretion.

8. Policy Enforcement

Failure to comply with this policy may result in appropriate action to protect the integrity of the learning environment. This may include:
  • A reminder of expected conduct
  • Removal from the event if necessary
  • Restrictions on participation in future Hexagon Training programs

Hexagon will assess situations individually and respond in a manner that prioritizes a respectful and supportive learning environment.
