Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Policy

1. Purpose

At Hexagon Training, we are committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning environment in all our programs and activities. We recognize the importance of DEI principles in our training content and practices, and we strive to ensure that our educational offerings are respectful, accessible, and beneficial to individuals from all backgrounds and identities. 2. Review and Assessment

When the board of directors meets to review the content of proposed trainings (following a systematic process), they will go through a checklist to evaluate and enhance DEI aspects in our training materials and methodologies.

3. Inclusive Content

  • 3.1 Ensure that workshop materials, examples, and case studies reflect diverse perspectives, cultures, and identities.
  • 3.2 Avoid reinforcing stereotypes or biases in any content.
  • 3.3 Ensure sufficient examples applicable to a variety of different populations are present.
  • 3.4 Ensure recommendations and considerations are applicable to a variety of different populations.

4. Diverse Facilitators:

  • 4.1 Strive to have facilitators from diverse backgrounds and identities to provide a range of perspectives.
  • 4.2 Ensure that facilitators are well-versed in DEI topics and skilled in creating an inclusive learning environment.
  • 4.3 If a conflict cannot be adequately mitigated, the individual may be removed from participation in the CE activity.

5. Inclusive Language

  • 5.1 Use inclusive and respectful language throughout the workshop.
  • 5.2 Be sensitive to pronoun usage and gender-neutral terms.

6. Interactive and Engaging Activities

  • 6.1 Incorporate interactive activities and discussions to engage participants and encourage them to share their experiences and perspectives.
  • 6.2 Consider using group exercises that promote empathy and understanding among participants.

7.  Intersectionality and Power Dynamics

Discuss intersectionality, power dynamics, and biases of facilitators and presenters at the start of each training.

8.  Ongoing Improvement

Commit to ongoing training and education for our team members and facilitators on DEI topics. Regularly review and update our DEI policies and practices to align with best practices and evolving standards.

9.  Reporting and Accountability

Encourage feedback from participants on DEI-related matters and concerns. Maintain transparency in our DEI efforts and hold ourselves accountable for continuous improvement.

Changes to this Policy

Hexagon Training reserves the right to change this Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Policy as deemed necessary or as required by law. Any changes will be posted on the Website and Users are deemed to have accepted the updated Policy upon continued use of the Website.
