This Policy ensures that CE programming aligns with applicable ethical codes governing psychologists and regulated mental health professionals in Canada and the United States.
All CE activities are designed to align with applicable professional ethical frameworks, including respect for the dignity and rights of persons, responsible caring, integrity in professional relationships, and responsibility to society.
Speakers are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with their governing ethical code.
- 3.1 Presenters must teach only within areas of demonstrated education, training, and professional experience.
- 3.2 Speaker qualifications are reviewed as part of the approval process.
- 3.3 Misrepresentation of expertise may result in removal from participation in CE activities.
- 4.1 Content must accurately represent the current state of research and professional consensus where applicable.
- 4.2 When discussing emerging, experimental, or controversial approaches, speakers must clearly identify limitations of evidence and distinguish empirical findings from personal opinion.
- 4.3 CE activities must not promote interventions that are demonstrably harmful, unethical, or inconsistent with established professional standards.
- 5.1 CE activities are educational in nature and do not constitute psychological services.
- 5.2 Speakers shall not establish therapeutic relationships with learners during CE activities.
- 5.3 Case examples must be appropriately anonymized to protect confidentiality.
- 6.1 Learners and speakers are expected to engage respectfully and professionally.
- 6.2 Disruptive, discriminatory, or unethical conduct may result in removal from the CE activity without CE Credit.
- 6.3 Hexagon Training reserves the right to intervene if conduct compromises the integrity or safety of the educational environment.
Concerns regarding ethical content, presenter conduct, or potential harm arising from CE activities may be submitted under the
Complaints Policy.
Hexagon Training reserves the right to change this Ethical Conduct and Professional Standards Policy as deemed necessary or as required by law. Any changes will be posted on the Website and Users are deemed to have accepted the updated Policy upon continued use of the Website.
